Stingy Style introduces "Stingy Style career girl!" Stingy Style career girl is a new posting featuring bloggers who juggle a 9 to 5 job and a blog. Each blogger gives us a look at a couple outfits they would typically wear to work and insight into managing their schedule. Stingy Style career girl is a bi-monthly post (and maybe eventually weekly) to feature these hardworking and stylish bloggers. For our first post, we featured Elle Peters from eaststyleplay.com and a loyal reader of Stingy Style. She has a serious love for fashion, food and exploration. Enjoy!

SS: Give us a run down of your job.
Elle: I work for the government, basically if you travel on the government's dime, I'm there to make sure you do it the right way... legally.

SS: How long have you been working there?
Elle: 2 years

SS: Was it hard getting into that industry?
Elle: Yes and no... I only got into this industry because I felt like working in the travel industry was fun, but management and regulation is not easy. It's a ton of information and it changes per traveler's circumstances. Getting this specific job, I aced my interview after doing research and searching for 4 months.

SS: Take us through a day in the life of YOU.
Elle: Wake up at 4:45 and hit the snooze button until 5:30, I get to work by 7:45 and I start answering emails that came in overnight since we work with a lot of employees stationed overseas. Take a break to look at more blogs, answer more emails... cat videos... emails... then I go home.

SS: Caffeine of choice, go!
Elle: COFFEE! Ice or hot! I also love Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonades. They are sooo good!!

SS: If you didn't work in government, what would you do?
Elle: In a perfect world, I'd work in the fashion industry. I want to own my own store, I want to serve women of all sizes with fun contemporary pieces. I'd also love to design my own plus size basics line.

SS: Do you have any pointers to people looking to work in government too?
Elle: It's a small industry, it's the same work, different day... find another profession. *smirk*

SS: What advice would you give your college self?
Elle: Finish school... FINISH no matter what. Live your life to the fullest and take up a creative major.

SS: How did you get into blogging?
Elle: I started in 2008 or so. I started off as a gossip blog, and then my grandfather mentioned something to me about gossip and it's not ladylike or something. I eventually turned to fashion and I rarely posted personal style, but when I was laid off I started going in a different direction.

SS: How do you schedule blogging and work? Do you find it hard?
Elle: I find it very hard, I can't update like I really want to. I try my best to put up something now even if it's not a style post or original food post but I'm always coming up with ideas I just need to do it.

Get her look with similar shirt, black skirt option 1 and black skirt option 2, belt, flats option 1 and flats option 2, ring 1, ring 2, and watch.

SS: Do you make an effort to include details of your personal life and/or work on your blog?
Elle: Yes, I don't (just) tell anything but I'm pretty open with the people who come by and read my blog.

SS: Do people in your office know that you have a blog? What do they think about it?
Elle: My boss knows, he thinks that I blog all day and jokes that I do nothing because I always have a blog on the second screen up. He calls it "Eat. Pray. Love." just to bug me. I get my work done though, two other people know, one checks it out the others don't.

SS: What is your office dress code? What's considered inappropriate at work?
Elle: The office is business casual, I pretty much wear skirts, florals and bright colors. I have a cardigan that I wear a lot and a tweed blazer that I throw on if my boss wants me to come to a meeting. We have casual Fridays as well... but I've been known to be too casual sometimes but I've been sprucing it up more.

SS: How do other women in your office tend to dress?
Elle: We have a little bit of everything, we have some jeans and sweatshirt ladies. The younger girls tend to dress trendy. I feel like I'm the only one that really wears bright things, florals and what not.

SS: Any fashion at work nightmare stories?
Elle: Yes, I wore a dress from Target. I wore it around but it would cling to my coat. I was in the cafeteria and I got up and my dress was around my waist pretty much. I flashed an entire cafe full of officers, employees and staff. I didn't know I could turn red.

SS: Where do you shop for work clothes?
Elle: Apparently I place an order with ASOS once a month and Forever 21. I go thrifting as well and Ebay.

SS: What do you wear on the weekends? Is it different than your "work clothes"?
Elle: My style is totally different... I love mixing it up and wearing what I want. I wear a lot of cool jewelry and fun shoes. I dress according to my mood. I very rarely wear what I wear to work on the weekends.

SS: If I were on a desert island and could only pack three things...
Elle:
My Kenneth Jay Lane turquoise necklace, favorite pair of Old Navy jeans, and my Cynthia Rowley white tee shirt.
